Happy Mother's Day

Hello everyone!
Today I want to share a mother's day card.
A card I made for my mom.

I features Die-Cutting Inlay Watercoloring, and basically is a technique that you die cut the shapes, watercolor them and piece them back together!

1. Trim to size the front panel of the card - a piece of watercolor paper
2. Place the dies and run them through your die cutting machine. I used that AMAZING set from Sizzix.
3. Using distress inks, water and a paint brush, watercolor the pieces. For my card, I used Mustard seed and Peacock feathers for the flowers and Pumice stone for the leaves.
4. Adhere the piece on a piece of typing paper and then adhere the watercolored pieces back in place.
5. Die cut the hello sentiment, a die from Wplus9 you can find here.
6. Adhere the panel with the watercolored die cuts on the card, then adhere the hello greeting on top and stamp the mother word with black ink. The stamp is partially inked and it is from this set from Clearly Besotted.
7. Decorate with gems and sequins. Cover the hello greeting in Wink of stella black marker to give it some shine.

Tip: Because of the die cutting you might have an imperfect impression when you stamp the word mother, so if that happens use a super fine black marker to fix the bad stamping!

Happy Mother's Day Card + Hello Card (Fast Watercoloring With Distress Inks)

Hi readers!
Today I have a very special mother's day card for my mom, that is easy and quick to make! Also I have another card to share, both are done with one of my favorite techniques: Fast Watercoloring With Distress Inks....

MOM YOU ARE THE BEST CARD
For that card, I used the Teresa Collins letter stencil (these stencils come in packs of 3 and are 8x10 - many designs in a very good price).

Of course, that technique woks with any stencil design or with negative die cut pieces.

I inked over the letters with my foam blending tools and distress inks, and then after I was done, I got my water brush (you can use any brush with water) and I blended out the color. For mothers day card, I used with water some Perfect Pearl Perfect Pearls that gives an incredible shimmer to the finish project.

The amazing shine you get with Perfect Pearls and Water.
HELLO I MISSED YOU CARD
Same technique here, I used a variety of bright distress inks and blended them out with plain water.
The technique looks so artistic, that you don't need much more for finishing the card.

ONLINE INSPIRATION MAY 2012 - Spring Seasonal Distress Inks

Hello :-)
New Spring Seasonal Distress Inks are super wow!!!!
So for this month's ONLINE INSPIRATION, I decided  to make 3 cards, one for each color!

Of course my favorite is Peacock Feathers!
And for all the cards I used the new Hero Arts + Basic Grey Flower Medley Background !!!!

Lets start:

PEACOCK FEATHERS

Here I decided to make something special! I covered completely a piece of regular card stock with the ink. I let it dry and then I inked the stamp with Picket Fence Distress Stain (another wow product). I spritzed some water with perfect pearls and I stamped. I have no words to describe the result..... You have to see it in person to understand ! It is amazing! And tough by Jennifer McGuire !
The sentiment is stamped with VersaMark on some vellum and white heat embossed. And of course is wrapped around the card and secured with adhesive on the inside.

SQUEEZED LEMONADE

This color is so refreshing! I did nothing fancy here. I simply used the same stamp and some good quality watercolor paper, heat embossed the stamped design, applied the ink with a foam applicator and the blending tool and then I spritzed water. Lots of water. This created paddles of ink and water and made some areas lighter and some darker.

SHADED LILAC

At first I thought that this color is awful! (Sorry!!) But when I've used it I though is really good (But I prefer Dusty Concord instead) !!!
I added some perfect pearls mist after I did what I did with above card (Squeezed Lemonade) !

Here are some details of the cards!

And a little nice decoration for my craft room .... :-)

Thats All Crafty People!
Happy Inking!
